Dan Blazer Obituary
Dan Blazer, 88, of Rutland, Ohio passed away on Monday, January 6, 2025.
A graduate of Bidwell High School and Rio Grande College, Dan spent his career teaching 8th grade history at Gallia Academy.
His passions in life were history, antiquing and restoration, reading, gardening and his beloved cats. After retirement from GAHS he began restoration of the historic Dr. Parker home on Beech Grove Rd. in Rutland. He spent the last 27 years of his life there.
Dan had been an active member of Vinton Baptist Church where he came out of retirement to teach senior high Sunday school for a few years. He was active in the building project from Vinton to the current location on State Route 160. He was also a founding member of the board of Guarding Angels childcare at VBC.
A memorial service is planned for Saturday, May 31 at the Jim Vennari Park in Rutland at 11 AM. Please come prepared with your best Mr. Blazer/Dan story.
