Beatrice Fay (Bea) Kennedy Dugan passed into the arms of her Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, July 15, 2024 at The Ohio State University Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.

Bea was born April 4, 1935; the youngest of 5 children born to the late Guy and Neva Kennedy. After graduating Rutland High School, Bea married Lloyd Edward Dugan on October 14, 1956. To this marriage was born one son, Marty Edward Dugan on July 22, 1958.

Bea spent all of her married life as a homemaker, wife, mother and in service to God. All the kids growing up in Rutland during the late 60's and 70's knew Bea to be the provider of ice cream and other sweet treats. Her home was always open to Marty's friends and Bea would encourage them to sleep over and play board games late into the night. Many years later, she loved to reminisce about those days and laugh at the ornery antics of the neighborhood kids.

In the church, Bea and Lloyd served as youth leaders and often hosted groups of teens for food and fun. Bea's absolute love and commitment to her Lord shone through her words and actions in her home, church and community.

In addition to her parents and siblings, Bea was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Lloyd Dugan as well as her beloved son Marty. The grief of losing her only child marked the later years of Bea's life.

Bea is survived by her two grandchildren Tony Ray (Danielle) Dugan and Tamra Kay (Jeff) Johnson, two great- grandchildren Kaylee Johnson and Tyson Dugan, Tony and Tamra's mother Ruth Dugan, and several nieces and nephews. She loved to show pictures and proudly tell stories about the latest news in the lives of her grand and great-grandchildren.

Also left to cherish her memory are the children and grandchildren of Buck and June Dewhurst; a friendship so precious that it lives on in 4 generations "Uncle Lloyd" and "Aunt Bea".

In the final months of Bea's life she was lovingly cared for by Sharon Schweickart and Vickie Schoolcraft. The care and companionship of these two ladies was a great comfort to her.

Services will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday July 19, 2024 at Birchfield Funeral Home in Rutland with the Rev. Steve Tomek officiating. Burial will follow at Standish Cemetery, Dexter, OH. Family will receive friends from 11:00 am until the time of service.
